Dreamcatchers were first historically noted in 1929 in the Native American tribe of Ojibwe. Storyteller speaks of the Spider woman named Asibikaashi. She took care of the children and the people of the land. Eventually Objibwe people spread to the corner to all America and it became difficult for Asibikaashi to reach for all the children. The grandmother and mother would weaved spiderweb to the childeren. The dreamcatcher will filter out bad dreams and only allowed good thoughts to enter our mind. Once the sunrises, all bad dreams will disappear.
The ring represents the circle of life. The main strings of the dreamcatcher are meant to represent a spider’s web which catches the bad dreams, and the centre hole in the middle is where the good dreams pass through down. The feathers attached to the bottom of the main circle act as soft slides for your good dreams.
